Safety is our highest priority. It would not be much of a fun adventure if there was a trip to the ER. Always be mindful of other people, tripping hazards and direction from crew. Life vests are provided along with first aid, coast guard signaling devices and all other required safety equipment.

Sailing can indeed be a dangerous sport, but unlike ocean racers we are not sailing against time. Our focus will be team building and learning rather than extreme performance. This cruise is designed for complete novices with a passion for the outdoors as well as seasoned sailors looking to reconnect with sailing.

The young captain in the picture above is surely too young to captain the boat, but before you call child protective services be aware that the autohelm was set and the boat is driving itself to a predetermined waypoint. This features allows our crew to temporarily engage a "cruise control" and focus on our guests.

On a more technical note. Mi Sol has been retrofitted to quickly reef the mainsail in the event of unexpectedly strong winds as well as furl the genoa in a matter of seconds. This means that we can always keep you safe and balanced on the water and never endanger our guests or the boat by pushing it beyond reasonable sailing safety.

While life preservers are optional for adults in the state of Oregon, we recommend that you wear your own or the ones on board for peace of mind and safety. Children under the age of 12 are required to wear life jackets at all times under State Law and will be provided appropriately fitted ones if they do not already have them.
